  • In FY 24/25, Pro Bono SG raised close to $7 million through grants and donations, to support all its legal aid programmes and four centres across Singapore. Of this, close to $3 million was generously donated by individuals and organisations.
  • With this unwavering support, in CY2024, Pro Bono SG helped and engaged over 15,000 individuals and social impact organisations.

 

SINGAPORE, 28 March 2025Pro Bono SG held the second edition of Pro Bono SG Awards 2025 on 28 March 2025, 7:00pm to 9:45pm, at Fairmont Singapore, to honour the exceptional contributions of individuals and organisations who played an instrumental role in advancing access to justice in Singapore. The Awards ceremony, which was graced by Guest of Honour Mr. Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, gathered Pro Bono SG’s supporters, including top donors, volunteers, and partners.

The Pro Bono SG Awards 2025 was organised as a formal dinner event to acknowledge the unwavering commitment of those who have generously contributed their time, resources, and expertise to improve access to justice. The Awards highlighted the tangible impact these individuals and organisations have made in supporting the legal needs of unserved and underserved communities in Singapore and fostering a culture of volunteerism in the legal sector.

A total of 140 awards were presented across various categories – Platinum, Gold, Silver, Crystal and Bronze Supporter Awards, Volunteer Awards and Special Recognition Awards. Human interest stories of volunteers and supporters are available in Annex B.

From April 2024 to February 2025, with the collective efforts of its supporters, Pro Bono SG has successfully raised close to $7 million through grants and donations, to support all its legal aid programmes and four centres across Singapore – Community Law Centre @ Tian De Temple, Community Law Centre @ Realm of Tranquility, Transnational Family Care Centre based at South Central Community Family Service Centre, and the upcoming Migrant Workers’ Law Centre @ MWC. Of the total amount, close to $3 million was generously donated by individuals and organisations. With this unwavering support, in CY2024, Pro Bono SG has helped and engaged over 15,000 individuals and social impact organisations, through law awareness, legal guidance and representation.

The Pro Bono SG Awards honour the invaluable contributions of the volunteers and donors who have played a crucial role in strengthening our justice system. Their dedication and compassion ensure that justice is not just a privilege for some, but a right for all, reaching those who need it most.”

For some, access to justice is a journey that is blocked by barriers of resources, knowledge, and opportunity. With the unwavering support of our donors, volunteers, and partners, we are paving the way to ensure that the underserved and unserved communities can take that journey towards justice. It is their dedication that allows us to create a fairer, more inclusive society where justice is accessible to everyone, especially the most vulnerable.”
